10/24/2022 – I’m finally heading back to finish what I started. Alot has happened since then – a pandemic, a change of jobs and the deaths of the two most important and influential people in my life – my Grandma and Grandpa. Most people that count me as family or a friend know that I like to finish what I’ve started, even if it might be to my detriment. Fortunately, I don’t think this will be one of those times.
I’m excited to get back on the Camino and have no real goal, but to make it to the next albergue by dark. Of course, I walk pretty fast and usually make it in early afternoon. The lack of responsibility to friends, family, a house, even a job leave a void in my day and thoughts. For me, that space gets filled with thoughts that have been waiting to be dealt with. I’m anxious to have those days soon. It’s been a tough, but also exciting road back here. I’m going to cherish the experiences and the new friends I hope to make aloning the way.
Now that I’ve boarded, here are the obligatory Delta One Suite pictures:
Then sleep.
My layover is almost over and I’ll be headed to my flight to Spain.
Boarded for Spain. Next stop Bilbao. I think I’m allergic to Amsterdam. My nose has been running and I’ve been sneezing since I got here. Hopefully Spain is more agreeable to my system.
Spain wasn’t. I think I’m sneezing more here than Amsterdam. I found my hotel and a pharmacy. I picked up some antihistamines. Hopefully they will work. Here’s some pictures of the room. I got upgraded and they sent me a nice little gift.
Bilbao at night.
I’m bushed. I have a 7am fmhg to Burgos tomorrow.
