I thought about this more this morning as I started walking in my new shoes. The previous day, I was in a church and prayed to Fr. Solanus, Grandma and Grandpa to help me with my foot situation. The next day, I was staying across the street from a store that sold the exact shoe I needed and the gentleman that helped me and owned the store was named Jésus. The world works in mysterious ways. Some would also say the Camino provides. I am happy with both. I walked today without the constant pain of my blisters. The new shoes are difference makers. I walked about 17 miles today and I dare say, it was almost easy. There’s many pictures today.
I ended up in my goal city, Astorga. I visited the cathedral and the Pilgrim Museum (save your money with that one) and have been camped out in the Irish pub the rest of the time. The owner is not Irish, nobody that works there is, or has been to Ireland, and they don’t have Guinness on draft, but it’s a reasonable enough facsimile of the hundred or so I’ve been to to make me feel like I’m somewhere familiar and comfortable.
I’ve only got about 13 miles to go tomorrow, so it should be relatively easy… Knock on wood.
Enjoy the photos…
I am about to pay my bill and go to bed. I hope everyone that is reading this has a great day.
