Well, it was a shorter day today. I didn’t sleep well, and felt a bit sluggish today. The room I was in sounded like a logging operation in Oregon. Also, the older folks don’t really have great cellphone etiquette. I have had to ask serveral to turn off their keyboard sounds and to put those phone on silent for the night. I guess they might just not know how.
So I decided to get a private room today. I got here before noon and have more time to enjoy it.
I’m starting to get into the topography of northeastern Spain now. There were some ups and downs today through the woods. It was pretty nice walking.
As I was ascending the hill to three town I’m staying in tonight, Rabanal del Camino, I noticed a rock on the side of the trail with a phone number for a massage. Once I got into town I called the number and made an appointment. Priscilla is the local massage therapist in town. She really does amazing work. It was 90 minutes of relaxation they I really needed. The inside of her studio of gorgeous as well. If you’re in the area, stop by.
I’m told I’ll pass the highest point on the Camino tomorrow, Cruz de Ferro, or Iron Cross. It’s where you leave a stone or rock that you’ve carried thus far. It symbolizes “leaving your burdens behind.”. I’ll definitely take some pictures. Not too many pics today, but there is a small, very old church in this town that is beautiful inside. Great place for a prayer. Enjoy the pics.
