I got up today and was excited to walk. Just under 26 miles today! I think this will be the longest day of my journey. I’m glad it’s behind me. I really feel pretty good. My feet are a bit sore, but that’s to be expected. It was a climb out of Portomarin this morning in the dark and along some nice paths through the countryside. I eventually ended up in Melide. It’s a bigger city and I was able to get a private room for only 30€ and a good dinner cheap.
The room is nice because it actually has heat. Most of the places I’ve stayed just give you extra blankets, but this place has a portable radiator. These are also known as clothes dryers amongst the pilgrims. I was able to dry all of my wet clothes and wash the rest.
It was supposed to be only a 15.33 mile day, but I was feeling good and wanted to even out the next two days’ worth of walking. Tomorrow will be around 18 miles. I’ll pass the 50 km marker tomorrow morning. It crazy that I was seeing 600+ km. to Santiago when I started this time. I only have about 31 mines left. I’ve logged just under 300 miles in the last couple weeks. I’m really looking forward to walking into the cathedral on my knees on Sunday.
It’s 9 pm and I’m going to take advantage of the quiet and get some good sleep. Take a look at my photos from the day:

Gorgeous moonlight!
Hey, I think I saw that same farmer (on horse), and the same cow and dog photo, before. Are you sharing reruns?!? 😆 None the less, I enjoy seeing all the photos, especially, the couple on the bench. ❤️ Enjoy!
