Posting from the Camino… Worst weather so far. It’s cold, rainy and it even snowed while I was at higher elevation. I’m halfway done for the day… a very long day. I’m holed up in a bar while my clothes dry or I decide to change into drier ones. Problem is, my dry shirt is long sleeve and I’ll probably sweat more than I’d like.
So I made it. Longest day off the trip so far. The albergue is run by volunteers and only asks for a donation. It’s comfortable, has clean showers and nice beds. There’s not much more you can ask for from an albergue. Also, the lady working it is from San Francisco. She’s the first American I’ve met in over a week.
We all settled in and headed for dinner. We finished seven bottles of local red rioja. They were only €7 a bottle and delicious.
Tomorrow is a third shorter than today. I’m looking forward to the rest.
